The Association (AGWSD) was founded in 1955 with the aim of helping bring together the community of craft Weavers, Spinners and Dyers. Their objectives are 'the preservation and improvement of the craftsmanship in hand weaving, spinning and dyeing for the benefit of the public and the promotion of public education in such craftsmanship'.
The guilds organise regular meetings with speakers, workshops, social activities, exhibitions and demonstrations. Guilds welcome all levels of expertise from beginners to experts and you don't need to be expert to be a guild member!
They also publish the Journal magazine which is a quarterly magazine published in February, May, August and November.
